Abstract:

The analysis of quality-of-life data can take many forms. In this paper we discuss some of the different statistical models utilized and some of the forms that the data can take. Also, we will discuss the use of figures to visualize the data and what situation calls for which visualization. Models that will be discussed include change from baseline (paired T-test), complete randomized design (CRD) with or without covariate, and ratio, (outcome/baseline) also known as rate. Statistical tests described will be T-test, ANOVA and ANCOVA, multiple linear regressions, MANOVA, Chi Square for categorical variables, and Mann Whitney U for continuous variables.
