Abstract:

Data from health insurance claims are used in variety areas, such as building quality indicators, performance profiles, evaluating effectiveness of disease management programs, assessing late toxicity of medication, and studying surveillances of cancer patients. Claim data are huge and complex. Data management and manipulating are required for these analyses. Also, a good understanding on the analytical issues and data limitations are important for interpreting results.
