Abstract:

A semiparametric proportional odds model is constructed and empirical likelihood method is applied to estimate the proportional parameter and the baseline distribution. As one of the applications, we use the proposed procedure to estimate receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves. We also perform a simulation study to assess the performance of the proposed procedure and provide numerical examples based on real-life data sets are to illustrate the implementation of the method.
