Abstract:
|
The paper discusses the role that statistics plays in the business curriculum. An overview of the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business' (AACSB International) accreditation process at the undergraduate level of business schools is presented. Reference is also made to modern pedagogical methods in statistics. The author argues that future managers must be made to focus more on statistics as a key research tool. The need to take an integrated view of business courses related to statistics is pointed out. The paper concludes with suggestions for harmonizing AACSB standards and pedagogical methods in teaching business statistics courses.
