Abstract:
|
This session will focus on the following 2 areas: (1) Importance of women leadership in the pharmaceutical industry and (2) challenges and opportunities that face women leaders. A recent survey showed that among ASA members less than 45 years old, 45% of them are women. If you consider this with the exponentially growing demand of biostatisticians over the past decade (which is quite likely to continue into the future) and the role that women play in making health care decisions---it is clear that women statisticians play a critical role both within their organizations and in the social setting. This session will focus on both of these aspects as well as the challenges and opportunities that come with playing this important role.
