Abstract:

Bentley University began offering a PhD in Business and Management and a PhD in Accounting in 2006. This provided an opportunity to develop new statistical methods courses that would be required for all first year students. This paper discusses the process that was used to develop a full-year, two course quantitative methods sequence and describes the resulting course objectives and content, the pedagogical approach used to deliver the courses and some of the challenges that have been encountered since the initial courses were offered.
