This course will provide an introduction to statistical methods for analyzing longitudinal data. It will emphasize practical aspects of longitudinal analysis, beginning with a review of established methods for analyzing longitudinal data when the response of interest is continuous. We will present an overview of marginal models and generalized linear mixed models. We will highlight the main distinctions between these types of models and discuss the scientific questions addressed by each. Attendees should have a strong background in linear regression and minimal exposure to generalized linear models (e.g., logistic regression).
