Abstract:

When dealing with large lecture introductory statistics courses, it is often the case that there is a course coordinator, lecturers, and teaching assistants involved in educating the students. These people, in conjunction with the students taking the course, form a multi-tiered instructional team. The communication needed to make such a team work (and work well) was investigated in Spring 2005. This research concentrated on two major issues: 1) Do those involved in the course make an effort to communicate with those with whom they don't usually interact? 2) Would the teaching/learning experience be improved for all involved if the lines of communication were more open?
