Abstract:

In this paper, we compare four multivariate control charts for process dispersion in the retrospective analysis of a historical dataset. Among the schemes compared is a new control chart based on a robust estimation of the variance covariance matrix proved to be effective in detecting outliers due to changes in the process dispersion matrix.
