Title: Raking as a Form of Propensity Scoring
Author(s): David R. Judkins*+

Keywords: Counterfactual Projections ; Observational Studies ; Confounder Control
Abstract:

It is demonstrated in this paper that raking can be used to produce counterfactual projection (CFP) weights that perform just as well as CFP weights based on inverse propensity scores for certain treatment propensity structures. Additionally, it is demonstrated that raking is superior to weights based on cumulative ordinal logistic models for certain models for certain treatment propensity structures when treatment is an ordinal variable, as in a dose-response study. Methods are given for constructing confidence intervals on estimated treatment effects constructed from raked CFP weights.
