Abstract:

A panel of current NSF program officers will be present to update you on a range of funding opportunities for researchers in statistics and probability. You will learn about funding opportunities in the Mathematical Science Priority Areas that include interdisciplinary programs between mathematics/statistics and each of the sciences (i.e., computer science, engineering, social sciences, physics, chemistry, and astronomy). You also will learn about the joint program with NIH/NIGHS where statisticians working in biological or genetic applications can secure funding. Other topics of interest include cofunding with programs in other directorates or divisions and funding for international collaboration, conferences, workshops, or special years. You also will learn about common pitfalls in proposal writing and have your questions answered about review and funding procedures at the NSF.
