Abstract:

This presentation will cover definitions of common assay performance measurements for low-concentration values in quantitative assays. The terms Limit of Detection (LoD), Limit of Blank (LoB), Limit of Quantitation (LoQ), and Analytical Sensitivity will be discussed. A short history and a definition of Functional Sensitivity will be presented. Similarities and differences between Functional Sensitivity and LoQ will be explored. Different methods for calculation of Functional Sensitivity will be given and the results from visual and regression analysis will be compared in a series of examples.
