JSM 2005 - Toronto

Abstract #304422

This is the preliminary program for the 2005 Joint Statistical Meetings in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Currently included in this program is the "technical" program, schedule of invited, topic contributed, regular contributed and poster sessions; Continuing Education courses (August 7-10, 2005); and Committee and Business Meetings. This on-line program will be updated frequently to reflect the most current revisions.

To View the Program:
You may choose to view all activities of the program or just parts of it at any one time. All activities are arranged by date and time.

The views expressed here are those of the individual authors
and not necessarily those of the ASA or its board, officers, or staff.

The Program has labeled the meeting rooms with "letters" preceding the name of the room, designating in which facility the room is located:

Minneapolis Convention Center = “MCC” Hilton Minneapolis Hotel = “H” Hyatt Regency Minneapolis = “HY”

Abstract:

The Microarray Multidisciplinary Research Team is a volunteer effort by scientists throughout NIH to provide a consolidated resource to those engaged in gene expression analysis. Formed in response to researchers feeling overwhelmed by details, MMRT is building a web-based program to help guide nonbiologists, clinicians, and novice gene expression researchers in the development, design, conduct, and analysis of their microarray projects. MMRT put a wiki in place to begin to define if not a standardized process, at least a coherent one. To better develop and test the initial wiki, MMRT is working with a few investigators interested in analyzing data and developing new projects using this process. The focus of MMRT is to have the investigator, their research group, laboratory technicians, clinical researchers, computer scientists, statisticians, and molecular biologists look at the process as a whole. The benefits to all colleagues from the interaction across disciplines are profound both with respect to increased understanding and improvement of established methods and for generating new ideas for statistical, biological, medical, and technological research.
