Abstract:

MCOD (Multiple Cause of Death) files contain information about deaths that occurred in the US. They can be used to match with administrative files, such as SSA (Social Security Administrative) files. The administrative files have identification information such as social security number and name of the decedents. NHIS-NDI (National Heath Interview Survey - National Death Index) files contain survey respondent's information that can be linked with administrative files via MCOD. This results in identity disclosure. The disclosure risks are measured for MCOD as well as NHIS-NDI. Different techniques of disclosure limitation are implemented. Their impacts on statistical analyses are evaluated.
