Title: Rank Set Sampling: Allocation of Sample Units to the Judgment Order Statistics

Abstract:

Ranked set sampling is a sampling procedure that has recently received considerable attention in the survey research literature. It is being shown that ranked set sampling outperforms simple random sampling in many situations. The goal of ranked set sampling is to provide the same accuracy, but with a smaller sample size than is needed in simple random sampling. The focus of this project is on the sensitivity analysis of optimal allocation of sample units to each order statistic. We will examine the best allocation for distributing the total sample size to two populations and assigning sample units within each population to each order statistic.
