Abstract:

Today, statisticians run businesses, consult for major corporations, testify in lawsuits, monitor clinical trials, and play a role in a number of high-profile activities. Their papers and talks can have a big impact. Should an audience be aware of them? We will discuss this issue, with special focus on whether the American Statistical Association should have a policy on disclosure of conflict of interest for ASA-sponsored journals and ASA-sponsored presentations.
