Abstract:

Looking to different horizons midway through my academic career in 1980, I had the great fortune to attend a Saturday afternoon Reliability Club meeting at Florida State University that was organized by Frank Proschan. That event marked the beginning of what was to be for me a very special collaboration and working friendship extending for more than 15 years. Knowing that his skills inspired many, I reflect on memories of a very special scholar and person in this talk.
