Title: Shared Parameter Model with Nonparametric Trajectories

Abstract:

Longitudinal studies often suffer from the problem of informative dropout. To overcome this, the longitudinal outcome and the dropout process are jointly modeled. One method for performing this is a shared parameter model where random subject effects are common to both models. Generally, these effects are the random intercept and slope. However, this is often inadequate to model the complex relationship, especially in studies with long followup times. In this talk, we present a shared parameter model, where the common subject random effects are modeled via functional random effects, and show how it can be used in practice.
