Abstract - #302425
Title: Applications of Distances between Phylogenetic Trees
Author(s): Susan Holmes*+
Companies: Stanford University
Address: Sequoia Hall , Stanford, CA, 94305 ,
Keywords: Phylogenetic Tree ; Bootstrap ; Microarray ; Multivariate Analysis ; Gene ; T cells
Abstract:

Distances between phylogenetic trees can be used to summarize posterior distributions on the space of all trees and make confidence statements about uncertainty for these nonstandard parameters. In this talk, we will show applications of different distances to studies of phylogenetic trees built using microarray gene expression data in addition to comparisons of transcription factor networks. We also will show classical phylogenetic trees built with aligned DNA sequences.
