Meta-Analysis: Basics and New Approaches - Continuing Ed

This course will cover basics and recent methodological developments in meta-analysis. Methods will be taught through presentation of examples from clinical and community trials, epidemiology, policy, and social sciences. This course is designed for persons who work as applied statisticians in research, government, or private industry. Meta-Analysis in Medicine and Health Policy, edited by Stangl and Berry (Marcel Dekker, 2000) will be available at a reduced rate with the course. An introductory course in mathematical statistics should provide sufficient background.
