The current U.S. economic recovery is off to a weak start. At issue is whether the weakness has reflected temporary factors that will soon pass or more fundamental adjustments that are underway. What are the prospects for the U.S. and world economies over the next few quarters and years, and how have the financial markets and economic performance affected one another?
