Abstract:

For a nonparametric comparison of multiple treatments with a control, one may use Dunn's test. The asymptotic distribution of the statistic for this test requires the assumption that the probability of ties is zero. For ordinal categorical data we construct a statistic based on ranks and bootstrap the p value. Performance of this test is compared to Dunn's in a Monte Carlo study.
