Abstract:

We introduce a family of probability distributions, which is a generalization of Rician distribution. This distribution belongs to the exponential family of distributions and admits three sufficient statstics. We further generalize this distribution to a very broad family of distributions. Moment-generating function and moments of the parent distribution are derived. Maximum likelihood estimates of the parameters are also derived. Applications of the generalized family to various scientific disciplines are presented.
