Abstract:

Changepoint models are well suited to understand the rate of change in response to treatment and/or the changing status of the disease itself over time. In the context of Alzheimer's disease clinical trials, we propose a model to describe the change in cognitive (subscale) score obtained from long-term follow-up data where the change in the cognitive status of a patient over time is not linear. We also attempt to predict the benefit accruing a patient with continued therapy relative to an untreated patient.
