Abstract #300926

This is the preliminary program for the 2003 Joint Statistical Meetings in San Francisco, California. Currently included in this program is the "technical" program, schedule of invited, topic contributed, regular contributed and poster sessions; Continuing Education courses (August 2-5, 2003); and Committee and Business Meetings. This on-line program will be updated frequently to reflect the most current revisions.

Abstract:

This talk will focus on methods for the analysis of latency data that are calculated from interval censored failure times. These data can arise when subjects are screened for evidence of infection, and then followed until disease onset or end of study. When subjects miss screening visits, the time of infection will be censored into the interval bounded by the last negative, and first positive screening times. Published methods for analysis of these data usually assume independence between time to infection and time to disease. We describe an approach to analyzing latency from doubly interval censored data that utilizes the bivariate distribution of the times, and does not require the independence assumption. The method is applied on data from a cohort of HIV-infected subjects.
