Abstract:

The missing data problem persists in much of the scientific investigations. Although many strategies have been proposed, they are mainly limited to data on continuous measurements. In this presentation, we focus on implementation of some of these available strategies on item response data analysis. In particular, we investigate the implications of popular missing data methods on various missing data mechanisms. Large sample behaviors of the estimators are examined in a simulation study to evaluate and compare their performances. Data from a quality of life study with lung cancer patients is used to illustrates the utility of these methods.
