Author(s): Louis Villanueva*+
Companies: California State University, Hayward
Address: 25800 Carlos Bee Blvd., Hayward, CA, 94542-3000,
Keywords: linear ; regression
Abstract:

The problem of determining the line that best fits the data is often solved by using calculus. I show that the regression coefficients and their uncertainties can be determined by using nothing more than high school algebra and geometry.
