Abstract:

In light of recent intentional releases of the biological agent anthrax in buildings, it is extremely important to describe the dispersal of such an agent. It is necessary to characterize this dispersion in order to detect it, to estimate the level of exposure, and to efficiently decontaminate the attacked buildings. A review of several airflow and pollutant models will be discussed in this paper. The ultimate goal of this research is to arrive at efficient single and multistage sampling plans assuming the different dispersion models. In addition, the sampling plans will be applied to a variety of building structures.
