Abstract:

We will discuss several methods based on statistical models to improve efficiency of estimates for small areas by borrowing information from other related areas and from administration records. It is important to understand and study the effect of these procedures when model assumptions are not completely satisfied. How do estimates obtained by such methods behave under design-based inference?
