Abstract:

Link-tracing designs have been used in sampling hidden and/or hard-to-detect populations. In studies of HIV/AIDS, drug users, and such other sensitive populations, subjects are included into the sample by following relations from one subject to the other. Sampling in these populations can be modeled as a graph. We discuss some commonly used link-tracing designs and associated estimation methods.
