Abstract:

Automated analysis of human and object trajectories in video data leads to a number of interesting and challenging inference problems of a statistical nature, including detection, tracking, prediction, and clustering. This talk will provide an overview of this general class of problems and discuss a variety of recently developed techniques that leverage ideas from both computer science and statistics. The talk will conclude with a brief discussion of potential future contributions of statistical methodologies in this area.
