Abstract:

Ggobi is publicly available software for visually exploring high-dimensional data. It has view types such as 1-D histograms, bar charts and ASH plots, 2-D scatterplots, parallel coordinate plots, scatterplot matrices, and tours. It contains interaction methods such as highlighting and identifying. There are numerous plugins for special tasks, such as multidimensional scaling. The software runs on most hardware platforms: Linux, Windows, and Mac OSX. GGobi has been available for several years now, and we regularly get emails reporting bugs, requesting enhancements, and occasionally reporting success stories of finding new structure in data. This luncheon is designed for users and potential users of the software to discuss uses and applications and provide input for future development.
