Abstract #301437

This is the preliminary program for the 2003 Joint Statistical Meetings in San Francisco, California. Currently included in this program is the "technical" program, schedule of invited, topic contributed, regular contributed and poster sessions; Continuing Education courses (August 2-5, 2003); and Committee and Business Meetings. This on-line program will be updated frequently to reflect the most current revisions.

Abstract:

Akritas and Kuha (2002) have recently proposed a different definition of missing at random (MAR), where the data are missing conditionally at random (MCR). There approach is applicable only for the case of matched pairs. The new definition is critical for the development of a fully nonparametric test in the matched pairs problem with missing observations. I will present an extension of this definition to repeated measures designs with arbitrarily many 'measurements' per subject. This extension allows the development of completely nonparametric method for testing for the presence of factor effects via the nonparametric model of Akritas and Arnold (1994). Simulation results and data analysis will be presented. This is a joint work with Michael Akritas.
