Abstract:

This paper reflects a comprehensive and integrated documentation of international migration statistics collected and disseminated by the governments of the three North American Migration Working Group countries (United States, Canada, and Mexico). This evaluation covers census, survey, and administrative instruments for which data on international migrants are collected. In addition, it represents the first document with comprehensive comparisons of statistics from across North America. These comparisons include the history of collecting international migration data within the three countries, the processing of data once they are collected, and the availability of data from these countries once they are produced and disseminated.
