Abstract:

The ACS is a new approach for collecting accurate, timely information about the characteristics of people and housing units needed for critical government functions. This new approach provides accurate, up-to-date profiles of U.S. communities every year. Community leaders and other data users will have timely information for planning and evaluating public programs for everyone from newborns to students and parents to commuters to the elderly. Join us for a discussion of potential uses of the ACS data that would not be possible with once-a-decade long-form information from the decennial census.
