Keywords: effect sparsity ; Taguchi ; small 3-level designs ; Hoke designs ; estimation efficiency
Abstract:

This article compares several experimental designs in terms of projectivity, estimation capacity, and efficiency assuming effect sparsity. The designs compared are the Taguchi L18, a fully replicated L8 with two center points, an L16 with two center points, and 4- and 5-factor Hoke saturated 3-level designs. The Hoke designs have 15 and 21 runs, respectively; all others have 18 runs.
