Abstract:

In contrast to software used to compute statistics, conceptual software is used to illustrate statistical ideas. We will discuss all such software from freeware applets located on the internet to commercially available software such as Visual Statistics and Fathom, as well as which concepts are most frequently shown by this type of software. Participants will be able to share their experiences with conceptual software in their statistics courses.
