Abstract:

New and enhanced technical means for disseminating statistical data have intensified concern for protecting data confidentiality and concomitant interest in technical means for doing so. Discussion will focus on problems and mechanisms for limiting statistical disclosure via abbreviating, modifying, or replacing confidential data (restricted data) and for limited access to confidential data under tight administrative and security controls (restricted access).
