Abstract:

The injection of collagen into mice induces the onset of arthritis in their paws. This assay is used to determine the efficacy of compounds that can slow the progression of the arthritis. The severity of the arthritis is measured on an ordinal scale from 0 to 5 across the time course of the study design. This presentation will summarize findings from the application of several approaches for modeling such growth curves, with an emphasis on the estimation and interpretation of effects.
