Abstract:

The literature on adoption and diffusion of technology (for example, Rogers, 1995, Diffusion of Innovations, Fourth Edition, New York: Free Press) describes the factors that influence the development and use of important technologies, such as farming methods and consumer electronics. Participants will consider the extent to which ideas from this literature may help us improve the processes through which survey organizations develop, implement, and gain acceptance for new statistical methods.
