Abstract - #300655
Title: Juggling Academic Duties and Private Consulting Clients - THIS LUNCHEON IS CANCELLED
Author(s): S. Lynne Stokes*+

Address: Dept. of Statistics, Dallas, TX, 75275-0332,
Keywords: faculty
Abstract:

The experience of providing statistical consulting for private clients by university faculty is similar in many ways to that of nonfaculty consultants. However, there are some differences, and these will be discussed. Some unique issues of faculty involved in consulting include ethics and legalities of intellectual property and use of university titles, balancing of teaching, research, and private consulting time, and use of consulting experiences to enhance teaching.
