Abstract:

Control charts (or "behavior charts") have been used in characterizing the behavior of manufacturing processes for many years with great success. The same philosophy can be well-adapted to parts of the forecasting process with current modeling practices, using the data that has already been collected. This talk will focus on the philosophy of setting these tools in place, with insights into their construction and implementation. Also, examples will be given, on how these charts can improve short-term and long-term forecasting, as well as being essential to strategic decision-making and strategic action.
