Abstract #300529

This is the preliminary program for the 2003 Joint Statistical Meetings in San Francisco, California. Currently included in this program is the "technical" program, schedule of invited, topic contributed, regular contributed and poster sessions; Continuing Education courses (August 2-5, 2003); and Committee and Business Meetings. This on-line program will be updated frequently to reflect the most current revisions.

Abstract:

We propose a new test statistic based on the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test to detect a location shift from two correlated distributions with missing data in both groups. The null hypothesis distribution of the new statistic is presented. The empirical power of the new procedure is compared to those of three existing nonparametric test statistics through Monte Carlo simulations. The proposed test statistic demonstrates high power and, under some circumstances, the highest power of the four statistics compared. These test statistics are applied to a dataset from a study of T cell receptors in cancer patients.
