Abstract:

Web surveys have become increasingly popular in the last few years, but there are many open questions about how to design web questionnaires. The speaker and his colleagues have conducted research on several of the key issues, including the use of "human-like" interfaces, the presentation of single vs. multiple items per screen, the effects of pictures and other images, and the impact of the spacing and orientation (horizontal vs. vertical) of the response options.
