Abstract - #300398
Title: Quantitative Literacy across the Curriculum: Implementation, Assessment, and the Role of Statistics Educators
Author(s): Joy Jordan*+
Companies: Lawrence University
Address: Dept. of Mathematics, Appleton, WI, 54912-0599,
Keywords: quantitative literacy ; assessment ; general education requirements
Abstract:

Many colleges and universities have recently updated their general education requirements to include a quantitative literacy component, rather than a specific requirement to take a mathematics course. The creation of such QL courses (potentially in any discipline) is both exciting and challenging. The issues of implementation and assessment of QL (and the role of statistics educators in this process) will be discussed and debated at the luncheon, and resources for further exploration of QL will be made available.
