Abstract:

Statistical thinking combines system, process, and scientific thinking with data generation and statistical methods to make better decisions and impact results. When properly implemented, the resulting appropriate statistical analysis can be very different from what has been published and is commonly used. This talk will discuss the application of statistical thinking to analysis of gene expression data obtained from real time polymerase chain reaction (PCR) experiments. This will include a brief discussion of the PCR process. By understanding the science behind the process, an improved analysis is obtained and better results.
