Title: Bootstrapping SIR for Dimension Assessment in Regression

Abstract:

A bootstrap method is presented for assessing the dimension of a general regression problem. The main idea is to construct an adequate resampled version of the kernel matrix used in the SIR approach of Li (1991). The proposed approach combines both formal and graphical inference procedures and can be considered as an alternative to the permutation test of Cook and Yin (2001).
