Abstract:

We consider a failure-time mixture model for comparing a chemical compound at k (>2) dose levels with a control in a typical carcinogenicity study. We use a logistic function to model the tumor incidence rate and the gamma distribution for the accelerated failure-time regression model. We investigate the differences in tumor prevalence and survival time among treatment groups using trend tests. We illustrate the model and the trend tests using a fictitious dataset.
