Description

The elimination of racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic disparities in health care quality is a national priority, but lack of data is an important barrier to assessing and understanding disparities, and to measuring the impact of improvement interventions. Innovative methods for using secondary data including survey, administrative, and quality improvement data to measure and monitor disparities will be presented. Papers using MEPS. HCUP, Medicare and commercial HEDIS data will be presented. Implications for the Congressionally mandated National Health Care Disparities Report will be discussed.
