Description

Markov chain Monte Carlo has had enormous impact on the practice of both Bayesian and likelihood-based statistics in the past 15 years. Richard Tweedie, former head of the Department of Statistics at Colorado State U and the Division of Biostatistics at the University of Minnesota, made many and fundamental contributions to this area -- most notably his award-winning textbook on the subject, coauthored with Sean Meyn. In this session, 3 speakers who knew and worked with Richard will discuss their current research and its relation to Prof Tweedie's contributions to the field.
